SYNOPSIS
Einen Großteil ihrer Kohle bezieht Deutschland seit vielen Jahren aus Kolumbien. Doch an dieser Kohle klebt Blut, viel Blut und noch viel mehr Tränen. El Samario, ein ehemaliger Soldat der paramilitärischen Einheiten spricht über die unzähligen Morde, die er im Auftrag internationaler Kohlezulieferer ausgeführt hat. Seit Jahren dreht sich in Kolumbien eine Gewaltspirale, von der nicht nur die Unternehmen, sondern auch wir profitieren. Der Film beleuchtet ein dunkles Kapitel des kolumbianischen Alltags, der eng mit unserem verbunden ist und gibt tiefe Einblicke in die Psyche eines Auftragsmörders. Was hat ihn zu seinen Taten geführt und wie geht er mit den Erinnerungen und Schuldgefühlen um. Kann man einem Mörder - und kann ein Mörder sich selbst - vergeben?

For years, Western countries have been importing large parts of their coal from Colombia. But there is blood on this coal, a lot of blood and even more tears.
El Samario, a former soldier of the paramilitary units, talks about the countless murders he carried out on behalf of international coal suppliers. A spiral of violence has been going on in Colombia, from which not only the companies, but also we are benefiting. The film illuminates a dark chapter of Colombian everyday life that is closely linked to ours. It gives both the victims and the perpetrators a voice. We accompany El Samario in his attempt to find forgiveness for his murders. For the first time he meets with relatives of his victims. He wants to help them find the remains of missing family members. The film gives insight into the psyche of an assassin, what and who led him to his deeds and how he deals with his terrible memories and feelings of guilt today. Can you forgive a murderer - can a murderer forgive himself?
